The house was built in 1870 and is tastefully decorated with some antiques and cottage furniture. There are 4 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths.
100 year old lilac bushes bloom each Spring with salt spray roses and stone walls surrounding the house. There are spectacular water views from almost every window!
Westport Island is a 2 x 12 mile island connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is 9 miles down off Route 1, between Bath and Wiscasset. There is a general store, volunteer fire dept. and Country Inn, which serves a wonderful dinner. The pace is slow, but the location is wonderful for day trips to all of the tourist attractions in the area. Boothbay Harbor is 21 miles away, Wiscasset is 12 miles and the Pemaquid Peninsula is about 25 miles away.
House is fully equipped - Linens and towels are provided. There is a Jenn-aire - microwave, dishwasher, TV/VCR, stereo, cable TV, washer/dryer and grill (charcoal). There is also a large gas lobster cooker for outside use. Books, movies and games are provided. Bikes can be rented nearby.
**2002 Rates to be posted soon.** Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday.
